My Story

At the age of 21 I was managing a multimillion-dollar retail store. I helped it grow another half a million dollars in my first year. If there was one thing I could take away from that year, it would be that people love "free." When I say this, I am not just talking about customers. I am talking about your everyday employee whom you strive to make happy. 

If I could do it all over again, I would give out even more. No one wants to waste money, but is it really a waste when the customer is buying more? What about when your most valued employee stays because you gave them a free shirt? Congratulations, you just kept that employee for life. 

What I took away from handing out gifts to customers and employees is that they will spend even more and work even harder. Everyone's subconscious automatically feels the obligation to owe you something after being given a gift.
